December Prayer Letter

Dec 18, 2025

Dear friends and ministry partners,

With grateful hearts, we want to share this update with you as we have just returned to Costa Rica after completing our ministry travels in the United States. From our arrival on July 4th until our return on December 8th, the Lord allowed us to experience an unforgettable season of ministry, fellowship, and growth.

Now, as we prepare to move to Paraguay in late January or early February, we do so with thankful hearts and deep confidence in God’s faithfulness. During our time in the U.S., we had the privilege of visiting 27 churches across 24 states. These visits also included our participation in missions conferences in the Pacific Northwest (Idaho, Washington, and Oregon) as part of those same church connections.

Everywhere we went, we experienced the warmth, generosity, and encouragement of God’s people. Many of you opened your homes, shared meals with us, prayed with us, and made us feel like family. No matter where we were, we truly felt “at home”—and yes, we are returning with a few extra pounds as proof of your amazing hospitality! 😅 Thank you for every act of kindness, every conversation, and every prayer.

Emma and Lucas would also like to say a very special “thank you” for the love, gifts, hugs, and care they received throughout our travels. They felt deeply loved, and your kindness made this journey especially meaningful for them.

Throughout this season, the Lord has continually reminded us of the verse that defines our calling: God’s Faithfulness Through This Season This truth fuels our confidence and strengthens our hearts as we move forward into this next stage of ministry. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” – Romans 1:16

We are grateful to share that our support-raising process continues to move forward steadily. By God’s grace, when we consider both the support already received and the commitments that have been made, we are around 70% of our monthly support goal for our ministry in Paraguay.

This has been a powerful reminder that God provides through His people and that missions is truly a team effort. In addition to monthly support, we are also trusting the Lord for the remaining needs related to our initial housing and transportation as we prepare to settle in Paraguay. At this stage, we still need to raise approximately $14,000 to complete the housing set-up and ministry vehicle project, which will be essential for our family’s stability and our ability to serve effectively.

Looking Ahead to Paraguay

As we enter this final stage of transition, we ask you to pray especially for:

• Wisdom and humility as we prepare to join the team in Paraguay with servant hearts

• Safety and protection during our remaining travels and preparations

• A smooth and healthy adjustment to a new country and culture

• Our children, Emma and Lucas, as they adapt to new rhythms and surroundings

• Our family in Costa Rica, whom we love deeply

• Our home church, for strength, unity, and continued fruit

• The team, leadership, and ministry in Paraguay, that the gospel would continue advancing with clarity and power

Almost There—Together as a Team

We truly believe we are in the final stretch of this journey. As we continue moving forward, we humbly ask you to keep walking with us—praying, encouraging, and standing with us—as God completes what He has started. Together, as one team in Christ, we look forward to stepping into the ministry God has prepared for us in Paraguay.

With Grateful Hearts

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all that you already do for us. You are in our prayers and close to our hearts. May the Lord bless you richly, strengthen your faith, and remind you that your partnership in the gospel truly matters for eternity.

We look ahead with joy and expectation to all that God will do—together.

With love in Christ,

The Chaves Family: Juan, Lucrecia, Emma, and Lucas
